In an article from Curbed Chicago, Riverline is described as “perhaps Chicago’s most significant project in recent memory.” Designed by Perkins + Will, Riverline is a joint Venture between CMK Companies and Lend Lease.
The project has a 10 year plan and the first building, “Building D,” which has since been named “Ancora” will be a 29-story tower containing 420 rental units. This transformative master plan will be phased out, however, future residents will be thrilled to know that the initial phase calls for the construction of “a new centrally-located park as well as a restored naturalistic shoreline and a publicly accessible riverwalk.” Public space is a key part of the master plan as Riverline is not simply a series of buildings, but rather a destination for Chicagoans.
